A dessert that is sure to hit the spot this holiday season. Today, our home delivered meals consumer will be having gingerbread for dessert.
Chef Mike and the kitchen staff said the homemade gingerbread smelled great while baking!
If you would like to try out the recipe, here’s how you can make it too.
Ingredients needed:
A quarter of a stick of butter or margarine
½ cup of brown sugar
1 cup of molasses
1 egg (medium size)
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons of baking soda
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ginger
½ teaspoon of cloves
¾ teaspoon of salt
1 cup of water (boiling)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Cream butter or margarine and brown sugar in mixer
Add molasses and mix well, add egg and vanilla.
Combine all dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.)
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix well.
Once incorporated, slowly add boiling water, mix until very smooth.
Spray 9X9 cake pan with cooking spray.
Pour batter into cake pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
Let cool, top with whipped cream and enjoy!
