Highland Valley Elder Services’ Registered Dietitian Brandon Walton showed employees how versatile cooking with yogurt really is. Yogurt can be a good substitute for mayonnaise in some recipes. When using yogurt in recipes, remember to check the sugar content, aim for a yogurt with less than 10grams of sugar per serving. Yogurt is a great source of protein, B vitamins and calcium. Brandon showed employees three recipes using yogurt. The frozen blueberry yogurt was a big hit. Brandon helps to create the home delivered meals for our consumers. He visits local senior centers and council on aging centers providing food demonstrations and also provides nutrition counseling.
