Food Safety

June 1st – June 7th is Food Safety week. The purpose is to raise awareness of food-borne illnesses and how people can prevent such illnesses from happening. Food safety is described as the handling, cooking and storage of food in the best way to prevent food-borne illnesses. There are some simple things you can do to prevent food-borne illnesses; regular washing of your hands and surfaces when preparing food, always separate raw and cooked foods and cooking meals at the correct temperature.
